Questions… What, Why, When, How, Where, Who..?
Posted by dgbmcc on October 2, 2009
I keep six honest serving-men
(They taught me all I knew);
Their names are What and Why and When
And How and Where and Who.
Rudyard Kipling (1902)
Living with the questions… more than having all the answers… help us grow in faith and life. One of the hymns we will sing on Sunday 4th October at Dalgety Church contains the words: “When was it that we first forgot that questions helped us grow, or lost the openness to ask and learn what we don’t know?” Our Old Testament Reading from Job takes us to one of the earliest recordings of the age old question, “Why do bad things happen to good people?” On Sunday, and on later occasions, I will reflect on this and other questions… questions that real people ask… your questions… please email them, or add them as comments to this post, or via www.twitter.com/dalgetypc , or put them in the box in the Hall of Fellowship at the church.

“…by the power of the Spirit we can know that we are God’s – that’s G O D apostrophe S!” unintended ending to sermon better than original!
