Wee Worship

“Wee Worship” happens on the last Tuesday of each month.  9.45am in the Church there will be a wee 15 minute service with simple songs, a story and short prayers. Wee Worship is for babies, toddlers, all who are not yet at school, along with Mums, Dads, grandparents and other carers.  After the wee service is time for soft play, toys and some craft activities, snack and time for the adults to chat. All finished around 10.45am.

Dates for your diary: October 27; November 24; December 29; January 26; February 23; March 30… and the last Tuesday of every month.

Remembrance Sunday – 8th November

On Remembrance Sunday the service at the War Memorial will begin at 10.55am.  In an act of remembrance there will be words, prayers, silence and wreaths will be laid representing many organisations within the community.  Worship then continues in the Church, concluding about 12noon.  All are welcome to share in this time to remember those who have died in service to their country in World Wars, War and Conflict.

Halloween/ All Saints

HAPPY HALLOWE’EN  The aim of this fun event (run jointly by the Mission & Discipleship Council and the Boys’ Brigade) is to inform children that there is more to Hallowe’en than sweets and dressing up – ‘it is a time for Christians to remember and celebrate all the people of God who have lived before, as well as those who are currently brothers and sisters in Christ around the world’.  There will be giant inflatables, arts and crafts, face painting and keep-fit routines (in addition to apples and treacle scones!) and Fischy Music will lead worship to celebrate the Communion of Saints.  31 October, 11am–4pm, Bell’s Sports Centre, Perth PH1 5HS.  £5/child or £40/group of 10 (accompanying adults are free).  For further information and to book, contact Wendy Kerr on 0141 352 6946, wkerr@cofscotland.org.uk or visit www.churchofscotland.org.uk/youngpeople/ypmandd.htm

Thinking Aloud

Thinking aloud is a monthly opportunity to explore a range of topics affecting life. Get-togethers are usually on the 2nd Thursday of the month.  Next meeting is on Thursday 8th October…  to talk about mobile phones and how they affect communication, priorities, health and our ability to switch off… contact the church office for further details, time and venue.

Welcome Back!

Visitors for the baptism, and a large number of folk who had responded to “Back to Church” invitations, and regular worshippers came together to fill the church this morning… around 200 including a good number of children. Comments welcome here on the blog or by email…

Harvest Thanksgiving – 20th September

The Harvest Thanksgiving Service at Dalgety Church will be on 20th September.  Services are at 9.30am and 11am. Gifts of money this harvest time will be in support of the Manse/ Church Accommodation project  with our  partner church in Engcongolweni, Northern Malawi.  Gift Aid envelopes are available from the Church if required.
Non-perishable food items can be brought to the church on Sunday 20th – these will remind us of the harvest from land, sea and air as we reflect upon and give thanks for all that we are able to enjoy.  These gifts will then be gifted to Front Line Fife, a registered charity working with people experiencing homelessness or people at risk of becoming homeless across Fife.  Small food parcels are often given to clients at the Home 4 Good Centre in Dunfermline – your support makes this possible, and is greatly appreciated by those who may have been without a square meal for many days.

Friends from Engcongolweni will be with us on Harvest Sunday before returning to Malawi on 21st.

Back to Church Sunday

Sunday 27th September is “Back to Church Sunday” and you are assured of a warm welcome at Dalgety Parish Church at 10am. See also: www.backtochurch.co.uk But you don’t have to wait until then…  From the beginning of September worship times are the winter times of 9.30am and 11am, and one service only on the last Sunday of the Month.
