On the recent visit to our partner church at Engcongolweni, Robin, Nan and I were staying at Ekwendeni, 6 kilometres away. At Ekwendeni, Nicholas Chihana is the Headteacher at the Primary School. Nicholas was one of the group who visited Dalgety Bay last Autumn. The school and community there is supported by Mary’s Meals – a project of Scottish International Relief. SIR has a charity shop in Inverkeithing which has been involved in the project in Ekwendeni. By providing “school meals” attendance and therefore education levels have noticeable increased. The New Manse

The work on the manse at Engcongolweni is progressing well. The minister, the Rev Peter Mhlanga and his family could move in by the end of August – subject to funds being available to pay the contractors. We will have final figures in the next few days
